My name is Liam Bui. I am a data scientist on a L/S equities team covering the consumer sector at Balyasny Asset Management. In the past, I have worked at:
- Point72 Asset Management (2019 - 2021) as a Discretionary Data Scientist, working on a consumer long/short portfolio team. I covered consumer discretionary and staples, including automotive retail, apparel retail, home improvement retail, general merchandise stores, specialty stores, and restaurants;
- Capital One (2017 - 2019) as a Senior Associate Software Engineer. I worked as a full stack engineer, using such technologies as Spring Boot, Hibernate, Apache Kafka, and JPA;
- WH Trading (2016) as a trader intern. I learned options and futures theory to help develop algorithmic trading strategies.
